The laboratory focuses on practical problems in video and audio transmission and processing, as well as on state-of-the-art research into the applications of artificial intelligence in communications, video and audio processing

Founded in 2015, this laboratory focuses on practical problems in video and audio transmission and processing, as well as on state-of-the-art research into the applications of artificial intelligence in communications, video and audio processing. The lab draws on more than 20 years of prior collaborative research experience of its team.


Project areas:

  • Algorithms and devices for video compression based both on up-to-date standards and on original methods.

  • Videoconferencing systems and equipment for use in telemedicine, distance learning, emergency situations, etc.

  • Applied neural network solutions for audio and video processing.

  • Algorithms and systems for digital multimedia data transmission, including wireless transmission.

  • Metrological support for digital media transmission systems.

  • Methods and algorithms for biological signal analysis in medicine, monitoring and predicting patient condition.


The laboratory also offers courses under MIPT’s graduate and doctoral degree programs, training young collaborators in digital data processing and transmission, and the metrology of multimedia data systems.
