MIPT offers a variety of educational programs in four fields of study corresponding to four majors:

• Applied Mathematics and Computer Science

• Applied Mathematics and Physics

• System Analysis and Management

• Computer Science and Engineering

Research is conducted in six different Phystech Schools. Please note that some schools can have more that one major, depending on the program. Prospective students are welcome to apply at the Phystech School of their choice, carefully considering which of the majors the program corresponds to. For more information, please visit Bachelor.

Step 1: Choose a full-degree program or a course

• Bachelor’s degree program in Russian

• Bachelor’s degree program in English

• Master’s degree program in Russian

• Master’s degree program in English

• Doctoral program

• Preparatory courses 

• Short-term internships program

Step 2: Find a program

Choose the Phystech School you wish to apply to

 Radio Engineering and Computer Technology

• Fundamental and Applied Physics

• Aerospace Technology

• Electronics, Photonics and Molecular Physics

• Biological and Medical Physics

• Applied Mathematics and Informatics (Computer Science)

Step 3: Check the entry requirements

Check that you meet the entry requirements of the program, including:

• Language requirements (passing the exam in Russian to enter a program taught in Russian or providing TOEFL/IELTS results for a master’s program taught in English)

• Academic entry requirements

Step 4: Collect the required documents

Bachelor of Science degree programs (in Russian)

1. Scanned copy of ID (passport)

2. Certificate of completion of the preparatory Russian language course

3. Certificate/Diploma confirming prior education (e.g., certificate of completion of secondary school/college level)

4. CV (including educational awards, results of academic competitions, and scientific publications)

Bachelor of Science degree programs (in English)

1. Filled-in application form

2. Scanned copy of ID (passport), its notarized and, if necessary, legalized translation

3. High school diploma, its notarized and, if necessary, legalized translation

4. Proof of English proficiency (B2 or equivalent)

5. Educational awards and results of academic or scientific competitions (if you have)

6. Migration card/visa (If you apply distantly, bring these documents to the International Department upon arrival)

7. All translations must correspond with the visa/migration card details

Master of Science degree programs (in Russian)

1. Scanned copy of ID (passport)

2. Certificate of completion of the preparatory Russian language course

3. Diploma(s): bachelor’s degree or equivalent and official academic transcript(s) of records (scanned copy)

4. CV (including educational awards, results of academic competitions, and scientific publications)

Master of Science degree programs (in English)

1. Scanned copy of ID (passport)

2. Diploma(s): bachelor’s degree or equivalent and official academic transcript(s) of records (scanned copy)

3. CV (including educational awards, results of academic competitions, and scientific publications)

4. Cover letter

5. Two letters of recommendation

6. Scanned copy of a certificate of language proficiency (IELTS or TOEFL)

Doctoral programs

1. Scanned copy of ID (passport)

2. Diploma(s): master’s degree or equivalent and official academic transcript(s) of records (scanned copy)

3. CV (including educational awards, results of academic competitions, and scientific publications)

4. Cover letter

5. Two letters of recommendation

Preparatory courses

1. Scanned copy of ID (passport)

2. Certificates/diplomas of previous education (e.g., certificates of completion of the secondary school/college level)

3. Resume (including educational awards, results of academic competitions, and scientific publications)


Please note that an interview is required for some master’s and PhD programs!

Please, NOTE! The scholarship is not available for international students applying to English-taught Bachelor programs.
