Moscow , 1 September – RIA Novosti. The joint research and education project for building an interfaculty "RUSNANO" Department of Technological Entrepreneurship at the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT) starts in early September, stated "RUSNANO."
"The mission of the department is the training of young scientists and researchers, highly qualified in the field of applied mathematics and physics in addition to possessing the skills for the commercialization of the results of their scientific achievements," the report says.
The Chairman of the Board of "RUSNANO," Anatoly Chubais, was asked to head the department.
It is planned that, while training, master’s students in the department will continue their education in the natural sciences and, in addition, will be able to gain further knowledge in the field of technological entrepreneurship, having mastered the appropriate educational program.
In addition to the implementation of scientific and technological work and training based on the results of the master's thesis, students in the department will have two years to learn how to prepare investment proposals related to the transformation of their ideas and technologies into viable business projects. As part of the educational program, students will be engaged in the development of the main tools of technology commercialization and will prepare a package of investment documents on the progress brought about with their participation. A thesis defense for the first version of the investment proposal will be held at the end of the first year, the students will then continue to work on the package under the guidance of departmental teachers.
As part of the project there will also be organized a series of open lectures and master classes by businessmen and leading Russian and foreign experts on the subject of technological entrepreneurship for students and teachers of MIPT. The most successful students in the department will go for internships in leading centers of research and technology commercialization.
The department will provide students with the opportunity to conduct research in high-tech manufacturing companies which will offer students development topics associated with their projects. Willingness to participate in the work of the department was confirmed by companies of various kinds, including project companies "RUSNANO," developers of laser technology ("NTO" IRE-Polus," LLC), optical fiber (JSC " Profotech"), magnetic nanomaterials used in medical equipment ("Sigma-Scan," LLC), firefighting (JSC "Kalancha"), accessories for scanning microscopes ("Mikromash," LLC), coagulation analyzers ("Gemakor," LLC), and those working on digital information ("VLANT," LLC).
JSC "RUSNANO" was established in March 2011 through the reorganization of the Russian State Corporation of Nanotechnologies. The state owns 100% of the shares of "RUSNANO".
