Griliches Distinguished Lectures at NES/CEFIR. This year Prof.
will speak on "The
Demand and Supply of Liquidity".
Dr. Holmstrom is Paul A. Samuelson Professor of Economics at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Since 2003 – Chairman, Department of Economics.
Prof. Holmstrom received his B.S. at University of Helsinki (1972), M.Sc. and Ph.D. – at Stanford (1975 and 1978, respectively). He taught at Swedish School of Economics and Business Administration (1978-79), Northwestern University (1979-83), Yale University (1983-94). He is the Member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and Foreign Member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences.
He serves on the Boards of Kuusakoski Ltd., Finland (metal recycling); Prospectus, Finland (investment banking); Nokia Corporation, etc. Dr. Holmstrom is also consulting the Finnish Ministry of Finance, Daimler-Benz, McKinsey & Co., Northwest Airlines, etc.
